Iaido

There are 20 kata which must be mastered in order to achieve shodan rank (1st degree black belt) in our style of Iaido. Mastering these kata is just the beginning of our studies. Each kata is a building block in the structure of Araki Ryu Iaido. These kata concentrate on suwariwaza (seated techniques) because one is most vulnerable when seated.
